There were several things I like to think helped with my “win”…
- The overall competition, I don’t know what motivated me more; the weight loss or the thought of losing. Dun, dun DUN!!!
- Support from all of my cheerleaders…seriously, thank you
- A more mobile Charlie, sometimes just chasing her and doing a hard core cleaning session is enough for me – phew!
- Drinking cold water throughout the day…Mat told me that our bodies naturally burn more calories bringing the temperature up a bit than if we were to drink room temperature water. Intriguing!
- Bumping up veggies and fruit intake.
- And eating more, yes really. I eat two breakfasts now, and snack between lunch and dinner.
And with my win came shopping… *waggles eyebrows* She asked where I wanted to go and I figured either Marshalls or
I digress, I had a few items to try on – ended up liking this almost Gretian style dress, this peasant looking top, this plaid top, and a pair of Converse modern fit chinos. I asked for her to pick a top and the chinos and I’d get the rest on my own and she did two things. 1. rolled her eyes 2. told me to shut up — Twist my arm… Then we went to look at sh♥es … I actually tried these on for shiggles, knowing I wouldn’t actually buy them. Heels and I don’t mix. So I gently patted them and tucked them back in their box on the shelf. Then I fell in deep smit with these cute flats and added those to the cart. We even looked at kid’s shoes and I picked up a pair for Luv. I had every intention on buying Charlie’s shoes, but once again I was told to shut up. She added, “We never get to buy her anything anyway. We just give her the handmedowns.” Which is true, 98% of Charlie’s wardrobe is comes from them.I’m so incredibly glad I stepped it up and followed through with this challenge. Not only did I kick my own butt I got some super cute stuff out of the deal.
