Earth Day is almost here and Cascadian Farm has stepped up in an effort to not only celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, but also to create awareness for organic farming. Cascadian Farm is donating money to the Organic Farming Research Foundation {OFRF} in an effort to convert more conventional farmers to organic. How wonderful is that! I’d love to see more farms and communities doing the same…
Cascadian Farm will donate $1 to OFRF when you pledge to live a little greener by following a few eco-tips on their Facebook page. You pledge and they donate. Simple, right? Just a click away! The goal is to reach $40,000 – through May 31st. I pledged to hug a tree We see a lot of clear cutting up here, and that wreaks havoc on our rivers that no longer get dredged, in turn flooding local communities. It’s ridiculous! I guess I’ve always been a bit of a tree hugger, though. I can remember as a child thinking our mountains were so beautiful until I saw a big, ugly bald spot.
While the Organic Farming Research Foundation continues to sow seeds to transform agriculture, you can do your part in the fight towards healthier foods and a healthier earth by signing the pledge that fuels your earthly passion. Cascadian Farm has been passionate about organics since 1972, when they started a small farm in upper Skagit Valley. Such beautiful farmland up there, I was just in Skagit Valley last weekend during the Tulip Festival Delicious organic products – over 75 – from frozen fruit to breakfast cereals products; each are grown without using nasty pesticides, chemical fertilizers or genetically engineered ingredients. *shudder*
Be sure to visit CascadianFarm.com to learn more about their and download a $1.00 coupon. And check out the Cascadian Farm blog for tips on sustainable living, organic recipes, and healthy living.
Mat and I both found the Cascadian Farm cereal selection to be quite delicious. I especially liked the dark chocolate almond granola for a guilt-free nighttime snack He seemed to happily gobble up the cinnamon crunch cereal, and Charlie loved the Oats and Honey granola {no nut allergy worries}. The cereal bars were tasty too, great for a quick on the go snack!
For all you health nuts; I have a Live Green Together prize pack up for grabs!
Includes :: Cascadian Farm Fruitful O´s cereal, Cinnamon Crunch cereal, Chocolate Chip Chewy granola bars, Dark Chocolate Almond Granola, Dark Chocolate Almond granola bars, Oats and Honey granola, and an eco-friendly grocery bag! Huge score!

Trust me when I say we don't normally look this idyllic, picturesque, +/or gussied up. In fact if you were to drop by unannounced {please don't} I'd be makeup free, in jeans and a tee, and my hair would be a hot mess.
Charlie might look like this though. Probably making that face, too. But nonetheless, this is me and my itty bitty family.
