Eucerin Everyday Protection Giveaway :: CLOSED

  • Sharebar
Summer will be winding down soon… that most likely means everyone’s soaking up the sunshine and beautiful days while they still can! Eucerin wants to remind everyone that it’s important to keep your skin protected year round, especially considering that we get our daily dose of vitamin D in just 15 minutes of the sun shining down on us while we go for walks, play at the park, or garden. The rest of the time we should be mindful of and plan to apply {and later re-apply} our SPF products.

Every one is different. The effects the sun has on one person will differ from another. Perfect example being ethnicity, since skin color is determined by the amount of melanin present in one’s skin. Those with darker skin are more resistant to the sun’s effects compared to those with fair skin. On the flip side of that coin, that also means that there is a difference in the amount of Vitamin D that is absorbed! Interesting stuff, isn’t it? Just be aware of where you fall on the skin tone scale, and take care of your skin accordingly.

Other summer skin care tips and info ::
The strength of sunlight is the main factor for the quantity of UV radiation your skin can be exposed to. Latitude, altitude, time of day, season and cloud coverage can all have a dramatic effect on the sun’s impact on our skin. Even reflected sunlight from windows, pavement, water, snow and sand can raise the risk of overexposure.

The strength of sunscreen is determined by its Sun Protection Factor (SPF), a number that measures the amount of UV radiation required to sunburn with the sunscreen on, relative to the amount that would burn skin without it. For example, SPF-15 allows about 1/15 (about 6%) of the UV rays that would penetrate the skin without the sunscreen on. SPF-30 would allow 1/30 (about 3%) and so on.

I was able to try out Eucerin’s Everyday Protection Face Lotion SPF 30 {with both UVA and UVB protection}. I always wear SPF of some sort on my face because I have naturally FAIR skin. I think it’s important especially since I’m not getting any younger… I want my skin to look beautiful for as long as possible.  This face lotion is for sensitive skin {perfect for mine} and is a great way to protect and moisturize your face gently at the same time. Some other features ::

● Light-weight; my skin is able to BREATHE when I wear it ● Recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation as an effective UV sunscreen ● Microfine zinc oxide and titanium dioxide provide broad physical block against UV induced skin damage ● Fragrance free, non-comedogenic {for those prone to acne} ● Leaves my skin feeling moisturized all day.

I love this Face Lotion. It works well with makeup too if I decide to put any on. Otherwise I just apply it in the morning and “fuggedaboutit”. So simple!

Like I’ve said before, it’s far to easy to take our skin for granted. Which is a shame considering how easy it can be to protect it. Neglecting your skin is essentially doing your body a disservice. It’s about time that you put the health of your skin first. Because of this, Eucerin is encouraging women to put the health of their Skin FIRST and take the Skin FIRST Pledge.
For every pledge made, Eucerin will make a donation to Healthy Women, the nation’s leading independent health information source for women where they come to find answers to their most pressing and personal health care questions.
Just a simple pledge saying that we will be more aware about our skincare and promising to take better care of our first line of defense. In  turn, we’re helping to keep a huge resource for women’s health funded. It’s a win/win for everyone!
