Stubby Thumbs: OPI Bogota Blackberry

My Grandma Charlie always had her nails done. It was her thing. I remember her talking about her next nail appointment and what decals she’d get for an upcoming holiday. No matter what polish she chose at the nail salon, her favorite shade was Bogota Blackberry by OPI. I’m not sure what she liked most about it. Maybe it was a mix of the smashed berry shade and the name itself. When I think of how much she loved getting her nails done, I am reminded of Bogota Blackberry.

For many years I thought this classic OPI shade was discontinued. After all, it’d been at least 12 years since she passed and I never once came across it in stores. Thankfully, last year I found it online and bought my first bottle with a quickness. And while I don’t wear nail polish all the time, it is quickly becoming one of my favorite shades. With a rich tone and very subtle shimmer, Bogota Blackberry plays well in natural light, but also looks vampy and gorgeous in a dimly lit room.

And again in the light box. I’d say this is definitely a two coat polish.
