About Me
My husband has my heart, my daughter is my life, my family is my strength, laughter is my air.
I suppose that’s the short and sweet version. A deeper look would be more like something out of an eHarmony commercial. You know, minus the longing looks at the camera, hoping to find Mr. Right – because I’ve already found mine. Mat. I love him dearly. We met at work for what seems like forever ago and were great friends before we started dating. We’ve had our share of {mis}adventures, and I wouldn’t change a thing. I appreciate everything about him; even when he leaves his socks on the floor.
My days are spent taking care of our 3½ year-old daughter, Charlie. Yes, her name is Charlie – Please don’t call her a he. Then taking care of our home is second on my agenda. Like most moms, I savor any second I can get to myself. Whether it is cooking, taking a long shower, fiddling with my hair, browsing the web, editing pictures, nibbling on chile infused chocolate, etc. Along with the usual crazy juggling act, I enjoy writing on my blogs. Okay, I really enjoy that. But my family is my top priority. Always.
I somehow manage to juggle most of the things on my list {by the way, I am slightly OCD – obsessive and compulsively delightful}, though some days better than others. I look at my “momma” title as the most important title that I’ve ever had. You will not hear me say, “Oh, I’m just a stay at home mom”. In fact, I’d love to hear less of that in general. SAHMs have developed a bad rep over the years and it’s a shame. Selfless, disciplining, nurturing, unconditional mothering is a beautiful thing.
Mothering will become doubly important come September when we have our second child. I’ll be sharing pregnancy updates and photos along the way. This pregnancy I vow to make healthier decisions, stay active, and remain confident in my ability to have a natural birth. I’ve decided to go with a midwife rather than an OB and I am incredibly excited about this journey.
With my daughter’s growing needs, my online time has a certain ebb and flow. And that’s okay with me. Blogging is my outlet more than anything, and it’s been a fun ride so far! I’ve met some fantastic people through blogging and had some great opportunities come my way.
I hope you enjoy sharing in my little Slice o’ Heaven…
